I've stayed in high-end hotels across the world, and this hotel was a great experience. The rooms in the Tower are brand new, very nice, very clean. The beds are comfortable and the AC is powerful (needed in Houston!) and it is quiet. Food at the restaurant was delicious and quickly served. Easy trip, and I would stay there again for business or pleasure.

Moises was amazing and made our stay so special for the birthday celebration! Every member of the staff was professional and helpful. Room service was efficient, as was the valet, etc. We loved our stay and will def be back next time we are in town!

I spent months looking for the perfect proposal spot. This hotel was not only beautiful, modern, impeccable and incredible art everywhere (owner collects art worldwide) - it has the most caring and lovely staff. I made up a fake event to fool my partner into dressing up for what really was my proposal and they let me put up signs in the hotel and all helped pretend so the proposal went absolutely perfect! I cannot thank the staff especially Jorge, Grace and Desiree - they were so helpful with every little detail and even just helped me feel less nervous when the time came. Every little accommodation did not go unnoticed - i feel like my faith in humanity was restored (so many people helping ensure this very special moment went perfectly) The room we stayed in was also beautiful, the view at the pool PERFECT and the restaurant food and bar drinks 10/10. Now we have a perfect spot for anniversary dinners!

No turn down service towel piled no soaps
TV did not work--was told That happens- NO attempt to fix
Room service limited and morning service doesn't start until 7am. When arrived food cold and delivered without water and utensils.....TOTAL GOAT RODEO.... Even though the place is nice aesthetically (TOWER) I suggest for amenities and service stay some where else. The fact that I was told "That has happened before and there is nothing I will or can do". UNACCEPTABLE.
I feel they are understaffed --Not a paying customers problem -

Just stayed here Saturday night, hotel was in a nice location and staff were friendly. Upon checkout, the hotel hit me with two valet fees, several drinks charged to our rooms, and finally mini bar items that we did not eat. All total, an extra hundred dollars for phantom items we never used or ordered. Be sure to check your invoice upon checkout, dishonest management!

My husband's company hosted a private dinner event here. The staff was very attentive and the food and drinks were delicious. There holiday decor was also very festive.

My wife and I stayed in the Tower during Christmas 2023. We stayed at the Bungalow during our previous stay at the La Colombe. ||Having experienced both, we recommend staying in the limited Tower rooms, if available. They have a more modern finish and are worthy of the 5-star classification of the hotel. However, if you would like more square footage, then we would recommend the Bungalow(s). The Bungalows have modern finishes too, but some of it is dated (not too much to make them unworthy of a stay). ||Overall you cannot go wrong staying here relative to other options in the Houston market (if you want to stay at a 5-star hotel). We have stayed at a few other hotels in downtown Houston and so far this one has beaten the rest (think JW Marriot, etc... in a heads-up comparison). ||The staff was attentive to our needs and had little touches along the way during our stay (we don't want to ruin any of their sneaky surprises but needless to say there were more than one during our stay). ||The only knock we can think of is limited parking but their valet staff handled our car with care, so that ended up being a non-issue (so long as you bake in the daily valet cost into your budget). ||One last thing, location. You're on Montrose, which is definitely one of the main attractions of this hotel. It's not overwhelming driving on Montrose relative to some other locations in Houston and there is killer food all around this area. Check out Handies Douzo for some killer handrolls. Also, the food/drink options on site are worthy of a visit as well.||Thank you La Colombe team for our wonderful stay during the holidays and we look forward to staying with you in the future.

In town for work and wrapped up work later so showed up around 10pm. Front desk agent was very pleasant and professional. We booked a "Bungalow" and agent asked Valet or bell to help escort us to our room. The valet/bellman made a face and alluded to the fact he wanted to leave to go home and not have to take us to our room. It was very obvious and awkward so I suggested we could find it on our own. After another awkward moment the Valet agreed and proceeded to lead us through a courtyard into an office building out of the building across the road with traffic into a poorly lit aging apartment complex. Very, very bizarre experience and not mentioned on the website, at all. Upon entering the "bungalow" we were met with a very unpleasant smell. They did the absolute minimum to redo these sad apartments. They felt dingy and gross - they cut costs so much that the closets were left with the old brown carpet they couldn't even bother to replace. This room goes for $960/night. The Zimmerman family needs to be more transparent and face the reality that an old apartment with some paint slapped on it does not a luxury "bungalow" make. We immediately grabbed our bags and began the journey back across the street to the front desk to request another room in office tower we learned was actually the hotel. The room in the tower was fine and beds comfortable. All other staff we came in contact with were professional and courteous. There needs to be more transparency on the bungalows - We did not feel safe and they are really sad and overpriced Airbnbs. Do not book a Bungalow.
